What Is Chi Kung?
Chi Kung is a system for preventing illness and stress and enhancing all aspects of life. Its key concept is that of increasing our vital energy, or Chi, through easy techniques and physical exercise. This life force energy is then circulated through the acupuncture meridians of the body. Chi, is the continuous energy linking the various tissues, organs and brain functions into a unified whole, a person.
Why Study Chi Kung?
People spend a lot of time and money making sure that their outer selves are presentable, then we abuse our inner selves by eating too much or the wrong things, drinking, smoking and denying ourselves love. Most people are simply unaware that illness and poor health are a direct result of accumulated years of stress and seemingly minor abuse of their physical body, especially the vital organs.
As we age, the energy route which brings vital power to our internal organs and enables them to function become progressively more blocked by physical and mental tension. The result is general fatigue, weakness, and poor health. If we do not live a healthy lifestyle and practice Chi Kung to keep theses routes open, they will gradually close, causing emotional imbalance, premature sickness, and premature old age. Simply by reestablishing the same strong flow of Chi we had as a child, our vital organs will begin to glow with radiant health. Our true task is only to reawaken this healing power.
