This notice is being published to clarify several issues surrounding the art of Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu and the reoccurring problems with those claiming to know, understand, and teach this art.
5th Generation Master Gin Foon Mark is committed to preserving the art as it was passed down from the late 4th Generation Grand Master Lum Wing Fay (Lam Sang). Master Mark has sole possession of Master Lum Wing Fay’s altar, artifacts, and many, many documents as the 5th Generation Master rightfully should. He can be found in the group photographs of Master Lum Wing Fay with his 5 disciples. Only those in the group photos were acknowledged by Master Lum Wing Fay as Disciples. Many others have had their pictures taken with Lum Wing Fay, some even paying hundreds of dollars to do so. This does not, however, give them credibility regarding Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Many of such photographs have been misused.
Many people searching for true Kung Fu, not a mixed or watered down version, have been taken advantage of in the name of Southern Praying Mantis. Lately, there has been a rise in the number of people trying to legitimize themselves by apparent association with Master Mark. I have personally witnessed people running up and even jumping over barriers to have their pictures taken with him. It seems as though people expect this type of behavior to set them up for the 6th Generation Mastership. It is not understood why so many would try to sneak in the side door, rather than walking through the front door as an honorable person would do. It would be very much appreciated if these impostors would stop hiding in the shadow of Master Mark or Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai. It is time to show respect and have the courtesy to find a new name or front for these systems. Considerable effort is being spent to weed out those that would falsely claim to be legitimately associated with this rare and precious art and the ones that have spent much time and effort to preserve it.
Master Gin Foon Mark is alive and well. He continues to teach Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu, 6 Healing Sounds Chi Kung, as well as other things. His school in Minnesota is thriving as is the art of Kwong Sai Jook Lum Gee Tong Long Pai Southern Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
